Our School Dog

Hello, my name is Dylan and I am Dogmersfield's school dog. I started school in September 2018, and I am learning a new routine. I spend most of the time in the school office with my owner Miss Riley, but I have been meeting the children in small groups and individually.

The children have applied to take me for walkies with a grown up once I have learnt to walk sensibly on my lead. I go to puppy training classes, and I have already learnt to sit, come when called and give my paw. I am always taken around school on my lead, and all of the children are delighted to see me. When I get a little bit bigger I will be learning about being a Thearpy and a Reading dog.

I am very clam, and have already cheered up some children when they were feeling sad. I also help to make grown ups smile and bring happiness to the school.

The Dogs Trust are visiting the school to teach the children about looking after dogs and how to behave around them, as well as what pets need to be well looked after.

Here is some more information about having a dog in school and some photos of me.

I look forward to telling you all about my adventures!
